Mixed Ukrainian-French Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation (the eighth meeting of the Commission took place on 26-27.11.2020 in the format of a video conference. Following the event, the parties signed the Final Declaration, in which they highly appreciated the state of economic cooperation between Ukraine and France and emphasized the importance of developing mutually beneficial cooperation. Parliamentary cooperation
The France-Ukraine friendship groups operate in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in the National Assembly and the Senate of France. Their main tasks are to promote interparliamentary cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries, to establish regular ties at the level of committees and commissions of both parliaments, to implement initiatives for further cooperation at the parliamentary level, to expand bilateral contacts at the regional level.
The members of friendship groups confirmed their readiness to intensify work after overcoming the sanitary crisis. Despite the difficult sanitary conditions, French parliamentarians were involved in various formats to support the French leadership in Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations and cooperation within international organizations.
The priority in working with the French Parliament is to counter Russian propaganda, neutralize its consequences, and launch bilateral trade and economic projects between Ukrainian and French companies and regions.
At the interparliamentary level in the conditions of the sanitary crisis until June 2021, video conferences of the members of the France-Ukraine Friendship Groups of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Senate and the National Assembly of France were held.
The following parliamentary visits have taken place in recent times:
On June 8-13 - a delegation of deputies of the National Assembly of France - a member of the Commission on Economic Affairs Pierre Person and Secretary of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Buon Tan - visited Ukraine. Deputies held meetings in the Verkhovna Rada, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State Subsoil Agency of Ukraine, the City Hall of Kyiv, the city of Mariupol, the checkpoint Gnutove and the city of Shirokine.
On July 6-11 - a delegation of friendship groups of the National Assembly and the Senate of France - Valeria For-Muntian, Anne Jante, Mireille Clapo, as well as Senator Nadezhda Sologub visited Ukraine. The parliamentarians held meetings in the Verkhovna Rada, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration, cities of Odessa and Kherson, the checkpoint Kalanchak on the border with the occupied Crimea.
